* Kindergarten-Grade 5 Literacy - Reading Recovery - Literacy Support - Holy Savior School Literacy support *Grade 6-8 Literacy *Grades K-8 Mathematics *Grade 9 Literacy *Summer School *Parent and Child Together Activities (PACT) *Adequate Yearly Progress *Homeless student support
How are Title 1 Students identified? Students who are most in-need receive Title 1 services. These students are those who:
> Do not meet or partially meet Maine’s Learning Results in mathematics and/or reading.
> Do not meet local benchmarks on the Developmental Reading Assessment.
> Are referred by a teacher.
> Are below expectations with leveled books and/or below expectations with Observation Survey.
> Have had prior Title 1A services and/or Head Start/Even Start Program.
> Are Homeless.
> Have low scores on NWEA/MAP test.
Why is parent involvement important?
Studies have found that students with involved parents, no matter what their income or background are more likely to – - Earn high grades and test scores, and enroll in higher-level programs. - Pass their classes, earn credits, and be promoted.- Attend school regularly; and - Graduate and go on to postsecondary education.
