Word Study |
Word Study encompasses multiple components including spelling, interactive read aloud, vocabulary, poetry, and reader's theatre. |
Mathematics |
Math Trailblazers is the foundation of our math program. It integrates math with science and language arts as students conduct real life investigations to solve math problems. |
Science |
Our science units of study center around Magnets and Electricity, Motion and Design, and Ecosystems. Students investigate topics through inquiry. |
Social Studies |
The first trimester is devoted to Maine Studies while the second trimester centers around waves of Immigration. The last trimester involves learning about our nation's major regions, culminating with individual state reports. |
Health |
Student learn to make decisions that lead to better health and safety. |
Collaborative Studies |
Every year students participate in a collaborative unit of study designed and implemented by classroom teachers, along with the media specialist, physical education teacher, music teacher, and art teacher. Supported by the six teachers and parent volunteers, students exhibit evidence of their new learning during the Mt. Will hiking experience held in early October. |
